Shannon Hartle grew up in Urbandale, Iowa. She trained at Capital City Dance Center where she mostly focused on classical ballet. She was able to perform in the corps de ballet and soloist roles in La Bayadere, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle and more. She also practiced jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop and Highland dance. With the addition to her studio training, she spent four years on Johnston High School’s Varsity Dance Team. Shannon graduated her senior year of High School early to become a Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Trainee. She was lucky enough to learn from some of the best teachers and choreographers that New York City has to offer. Shannon is currently working towards her BFA in Dance, a minor in Communication Studies and a certificate in Entrepreneurship in Performing Arts at the University of Iowa. In her first two years, she has participated in 13 different University shows and has loved learning from faculty, graduate students and fellow undergraduates. She has also been involved with teaching for the University of Iowa Youth Ballet. Shannon hopes that the future brings her many more performance and teaching opportunities.
